Media art in creative space: challenges and peculiarities of exhibiting from ISOLYATSIYA experience

In eight years of its existence, IZOLYATSIA, its employees, and residents created countless contemporary art projects: large innovative interactive installations, performances, projections, film and animation projects. They are The Pulse Room by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, The Invisible Train by Leandro Erlich, audiovisual performances by Myroslav Vayda and Ensemble Nostri Temporis, Lullabies by Tsay Gotsan, and others. The lecturer will concentrate on the challenges and features of media art creation and exhibiting.

Mykhaylo Hlubokyi works as development director at IZOLYATSIYA cultural initiatives platform. The fund was created in 2010 on the territory of former insulation materials factory in Donetsk to support independent culture and education and to engage Ukrainian creative community. Mykhaylo is responsible for communications with international partners and institutions and also directly participates in producing complicated technical installations and art projects.
