The purpose of the computer is to create a new world. The computer gets more power and is acting like a creator. Do we want this? Is there still a place for humans? And do we trust the judgment of a machine?

In the Zone is a 3D motion graphics animation whose main character is summoned by his own reflection to take a journey, a trip to his inner world. During his time there he discovers many more reflections of himself. He wonders, “Why are there so many of me?” When he returns to the first world, he considers the idea that this first world might not be the same place he came from…

It takes place in a enchanted forest. You, tiny as a mouse, are guided by noises and rustlings to look around and explore the forest. The project is based on traditional stop motion puppet animation. It was a group project by three students of the Lucerne School of Applied Arts and Design Animation Departement and collaborated with the Swiss Television.

EXTRAVAGANZA mixes 3D animation and live action footage in a short immersive satire. When the viewer puts on the VR headset they become a puppet trapped in a stunningly offensive puppet show. Instead of a consumer, they find themselves in the novel position of "consumed", subjected to insults by their audience and confronted with many of mainstream entertainment’s blind spots and prejudices. Can technology change society for the better, or does it just magnify our worst traits in new ways? Starring Paul Scheer and John Gemberling.

Set in a beautiful forest clearing AURORA gives the audience space to experience the majesty of nature through a time-lapse style narrative of day to night, spring to winter and life to death. This visually rich cinematic animated VR short follows the lives of a young family and all who inhabit it’s vividly coloured landscape. AURORA draws the viewer into the emotive storyline by allowing them to get up close and personal with the characters. Fleeting awe-inspiring moments of presence and gentle interaction invite us to reflect on the very nature of time itself. AURORA is an uplifting visual feast that packs an emotional punch.

NOTHING HAPPENS is a cinematic VR experience which questions the role of the spectator, by inviting the individual to participate in an event. VR allows us to choose our perspective, allows us to dwell on the details and absorb the unique atmosphere. The project explores a new kind of narrative, a new way of being in a painting, a work of art that is truly comprehensive and immersive. NOTHING HAPPENS offers a new way of looking. It is about spectatorship, about watching and being watched. It is about being present.
