The animated film “Hobune” (“The Horse”) is a visualization of my sense perceptions, imagined worlds, and memories of the past as the author. The revived images of memories also reflect current reality, as they are inevitably impacted by the experience of the present. Before realizing the film, I did not construct a script nor plan the progression of the unified whole. Therefore the structure and makeup of the animation were created and developed in the process of creation. Generalizing, I can say that the animated film “Hobune” does not present a single narrative, but several different tales or sequences of images that have been formed into a cohesive whole.
