I Died in Irpin is an interesting case in the Ukrainian industry. The short film was created in cooperation between Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, using the traditional charcoal-on-paper animation technique. The film was nominated for the ANNECY festival's Perspectives competition. Anastasia will talk about the entire process of creating the film, from the birth of the idea to the premiere. She will share the stories that were left behind the scenes and discuss the symbolism of the film as well as the animation, which combines documentary and surrealistic visions of reality.
Anastasia Falileieva is an animation director and stop-motion animator. She was born in Kremenchuk. Currently lives in Kyiv. She studied stop-motion animation with puppet master Oleg Pedan at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Film and Television University (2016-2020). Anastasiia is one of the few stop-motion professionals left in Ukraine.
