Energy is turned off, development stopped, irregularities started in the social mechanism – therefore, the power has been taken by emptiness. The latter comes in different shapes: attacking those who are different, glorifying post-truth, losing empathy, impersonating, turning to the cult of violence and exploitation. Emptiness reigns and encourages to think separately, ignoring the very fact of irregularities in our world. Attempts to resist this situation include multimedia manifests, cuss words and critical look at emptiness through the attentive eye of an artist.

It is an idea that zooms far out to the celestial—the astronauts of Apollo 11 left a piece of silicon inscribed with messages from Earth on the moon—then zooms in to the earth's sediment and further still, to the aesthetic realm of poetry.

"from this side of space to the other side of the signal" utilizes footage produced on unique analog equipment from the early history of video during a residency at Signal Culture (a contemporary version of the original Experimental Television Center in Owego, NY), and emerges from a nod to Michael Snow's iconic structural film La Région Centrale. Virtual landscapes pumped through the analog system become caught amidst sets of "meaningless" signs/barriers and violent signals.

‘Painting with the Man’ was developed through the use of a camera-less motion capture suit worn by Freya Olafson. The work references Yves Klien’s Anthropométries 1960 series; wherein Klein engaged nude women as 'human paint brushes'. Dressed in bow-tie and suit Klein would conduct the women as they covered themselves (in his patented color ‘International Klein Blue’) and made imprints of their bodies on canvas. In ‘Painting with the Man’ Olafson uses a digital readymade generic male 3D body to imprint the canvas / screen.
