Mykyta will talk about the history of indie games in general and the Ukrainian context of this process. We will talk about the formation of the phenomenon of indie games: how they originated, developed, their current context, and their influence on culture. Mykyta will also share his own experience of producing indie games.
Mykyta Filonenko. In 2016, he graduated from the Kharkiv Academy of Design and Arts with a bachelor's degree in Monumental Painting. He started creating games in 2017. The main focus of his work is horror and survival games. The first game Vasilis was released in 2017, allegorically immersing the player in the events of the 2014 Maidan and the subsequent political process.
The latest project, Bedrotting, tells the story of a depressed girl who can't get out of bed for 20 days and focuses on her relationship with her mother and her life in a small mountain town in the middle of the forest.
