"Catherine" was the first professional short film by Britt Raes. It premiered in 2016, travelled to over 200 festivals and won more than 50 awards. Britt will give insight into the creation of the short, from idea till finished film. Sharing the very first sketches, talking about the different steps of development (such as storyboard, animatic, colour tests), the impact of trainings and workshops, the importance of the creative team, the process of finding funding and partners, the distribution, and the impact of the finished film on her career and future projects.

Britt loves to draw and tell stories. Working in animation makes her happy every day. Her first professional short film 'Catherine' screened worldwide at over 200 festivals and won 50 prizes. She's currently developing a new short film for children and an adult series about pets. She also works as a freelance director and illustrator. Her favourite things are chocolate, indie music, Totoro and riding her bike. If she is reincarnated, she hopes to come back as a cat named Fluffy.
