On April 14-19, 2019, LINOLEUM International Animation and Media Arts Festival and HAPPY HIPPIE LAB stop motion animation studio will host a workshop by the famous British animator Tim Allen. Tim has over 20 years of animation experience under his belt, and his filmography includes: “Isle of Dogs" (2018) and "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (2009) by Wes Anderson, "Corpse Bride" (2005) and "Frankenweenie" (2012) by Tim Burton.
Allen created animation sequences for the Oscar-winning "Peter & the Wolf" (2006) directed by Susie Templeton and Oscar nominee "My Life as a Courgette" (2016) by Claude Barras. For many years he has been working on television series, including Fireman Sam, Animal World, Postman Pat, and animated 29 episodes of the Shaun the Sheep series for Aardman Animations. Tim was the animation supervisor for the “Magic Piano” project and the special editions of “Club Penguin” for Disney. In the meantime, Tim has been constantly conducting training workshops and meetings with young and experienced animators alike.
With the support of the British Council in Ukraine, Tim Allen will hold a five-day workshop in the premises of the School of Visual Communications for seven participants who will be selected based on their experience and showreels of their work. Animators and directors with experience in stop motion techniques are invited to apply for participation. Participation will be free of charge, and works created during the workshop will be published on the festival's website www.linoleumfest.com and partners’ Facebook pages.
